There are so many choices, and so many opportunities.

Again, I would recommend you take your time to look through all the possibilities of working with glass. This website of  art and craft supplies is extensive.

Take your time, search this site and above all, make this a fun process. This is part of your journey.

Be lead by inspiration and your imagination.  Remember you can do any art you choose, as long as you have the desire to do so.  Whether it is glass art, painting, sculpturing, or another medium, you are a creative being. When you discover art, you will discover yourself.

When you begin a stained glass art project, or any glass art project, always consider your work space and work surface. Your work space should be away from children, pets and food. Any sturdy table with good lighting will work well. Cover your table with newspapers or felt when cutting glass. Make sure there is plenty of space and good ventilation.

Choose an area where you can leave your work undisturbed. Your stained glass art project may take several days or weeks to complete.

When you are cutting glass, always keep your work area clean of the thin slivers of glass by sweeping frequently with a small broom and dust pan; do this after every cut. Small glass fragments, could, if lefton your work surface, get under a piece of glass you are cutting and could break or scratch the glass.

It is always best, when building your stained glass art project to make safety a priority.  Safety goggles should be worn at all times when cutting glass or working with glass art.

Before beginning your stained glass art project, practice the cutting techniques or basic skills (depending on your choice of glass art) on scrap glass in order to strengthen your skills. Do not hurry this process.

Once you master these techniques you will be able to proceed with confidence, and soon your skills will become second nature.

If this is you first stained glass art project, choose a pattern or project that is made specifically for beginners. Pick an easy pattern, or task.  If you are making a leaded stained glass window or hanging, choose patterns with large pieces.

It is best to start with 10 pieces or less.  It is important that you no not choose a pattern or project that is above your skill level, you risk frustration, and this could ultimately lead to abandoning the project.

Once you have mastered a few basic skills, you will gain long lasting satisfaction from knowing this beautiful stained glass art project has been made by your hands.  Free stained glass patterns (click on "Links" in the menu).
